Stocks largely added to their gains from yesterday, despite the fact that today is the long-awaited Election Day 2016 in the United States. The S&P 500 managed to close in positive territory for the second day in a row, up 0.38%. Seven of the ten micro-cap stock indices managed to close in positive territory on Tuesday, November 8, 2016. However, the three losing micro-cap indices include yesterday’s laggards: OTCQX Banks Index, OTCQX U.S. Index, and the OTCQB Venture Index ended lower on the day. Stocks largely closed positively, as traders saw an increasing likelihood that Hillary Clinton would win the White House, and a continuing deadlock Congress. We will have to wait and see how the final votes turn out and the potential impact it could have for the trading day tomorrow.
