Major U.S. averages saw steady afternoon declines into the close, after starting the trading day in positive territory. Poor results from International Business Machines Corporation (NYSE: IBM) resulted in a strong drag on the Dow. Overall, the Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 0.58%, the S&P 500 declined 0.17%, and the Nasdaq saw slight gains of 0.23%, during trading on Wednesday, April 19, 2017. Commodities were hammered today: crude oil dives 3.49%, gold declines 0.94%, and silver prices drop 0.75%.

Overall, micro-cap indices continue to be in a downtrend, as seven of the ten indices saw declines on Wednesday. Leading the losses was the OTCQX Canada Index’s 1.75% dive. On the other hand, the OTCQX Banks Index was today’s best performer with 0.30% gains.
