Major U.S. averages whipsawed throughout the trading day, closing in slightly negative territory after a sharp rally from the lows of the day. The Dow Jones Industrial Average skid 0.06%, the S&P 500 dipped 0.16%, and Nasdaq declined 0.29%, during trading on Monday, April 3, 2017. Commodities saw mixed trading on Monday: crude oil dove 0.73%, silver dipped 0.03%, but gold rallied 0.26%.

Micro-cap indices sold off on Monday, as nine of the ten indices saw declines on the day. Leading the losses was the OTCQB Venture Index, which dove 1.30%. Only the OTCQX U.S. Index managed to make positive traction on Monday, after gaining 0.59%.
